The raw steel CM9 is built for corrugated metal roofs and left uncoated on purpose. It weathers to a natural rust finish that suits barns, rustic buildings and weathered-steel designs. It mounts directly on top of the corrugations of 7/8" corrugated panels and holds snow in place so it melts off gradually instead of sliding off all at once.
Made from heavy-duty 14-gauge steel and assembled with three stainless steel rivets, its 9" profile works for retrofits and new construction. It installs with three #14 × 3" 304 stainless steel hex head screws, which are included. The guard is meant to rust, but the fasteners and rivets aren't: stainless won't corrode, so the guard stays securely attached long after the steel has weathered.
Note: as raw steel weathers, rust runoff can stain light-colored roofing, gutters or siding below.
